This morning DD and I went to Saginaw to get a lot of steps in by
stimulating the economy".
We did not stimulate them too much because we walked more than chose.
DD bought some lingerie, I bought shower curtain liners and a word search book. She also bought a vid game for $.95!
We ended up getting free food, bucks off the clothing and book.
We went to a store I never heard of until a couple months ago.It is called At Home. It is a cross between TJ Maxx and Burlington Coat Factory I guess. I have NEVER seen so many colors and styles of throw pillows in my life. I have shopped at a LOT of stores in my life so far, but they have thousands of throw pillows! Their prices are higher than the above mentioned places, but I did find the liners for $1.99. When they get old and yucky, I toss them in the laundry with my white load and bleach, then dry them outdoors in the sunlight. I used them for painting and give them to my friend to put on her floor when she cleans her oven.
I also use them to cover plants, in my trunk under things I haul in it. They make great "tarps" to haul yard debris, cover for icy windshields too.
Kathy has volunteered to help me sand and refinish my end tables and coffee tables next spring, so we will use the old liners to go under them.

There are so many changes in the world my head spins stores and stores going out of business and the politics going on and this girl is one that never liked change. Actually I liked the days of the big malls and going at Christmastime and all the lovely times there as a child. But....that's life isn't it???
Lin, you have more and better ideas for things than anyone I know. Well, I can't exactly say that because My John is like you....he can figure out so many things like you do and I really am learning from him! emoticon

I have used old shower curtains that I have washed, in the same way. I just cut off the part where the holes are for the shower curtain rings. We also used them on picnic tables for tablecloths at some roadside picnic areas that had wooden picnic tables.

Thank you for your hints for them. I love reading about your bargains.

You really had me going for a minute, I thought you were still talking about all the pillows, and wondered why you would wash them in bleach water and uses them to cover the floor before cleaning the over, and looked back and you were talking about the shower liners. Well, at least I got a good laugh at myself. lol on me.
