Day 287: The Snow is Coming

"Be better today than you were yesterday, and be better tomorrow than you are today." (Lorenzo Snow)
Hello my lovely friends!
Right now we are in the beginning of what is going to be our first real snow fall that sticks to the ground. You can hear the winds blowing around and the rain that is falling will turn into snow overnight. We’ve been about 37 to 35 overnight for the past couple of nights, but tonight it will dip into the 20’s and not get much higher than that all day.
Since we just had the 90’s what a little over two weeks ago, many of us put off blowing out our sprinklers and the past week everyone rushing to get them done. We made an appointment on Tuesday with the service we always use for Friday, but they never showed up. With the weather dipping into freezing temps I turned the water off in the basement and covered the outside. My Dad had made this box with insulation that covers them in the colder months when they’re off. We found a guy in the neighborhood that has always been the do-it-yourself guy that everyone talks about on our FB board and we called him. He showed up on Saturday and did the job. My Mom talked to him about doing some projects around the house too. He was really nice and my Mom liked that he lived in the neighborhood. He even mentioned that his kids go to our house on Halloween. Now I’m glad that we have that done and we don’t have to worry about it.
It seems like my body is trying to come down with something, but I’m not sure if it is. Let me explain. Friday was the first day with sunshine all week because it had been raining off and on. I wanted to mow and clean up the front yard before starting the Halloween decorations, I did that and used my new mulcher/leaf blower and boy is that thing heavy. It has a strap to put on. On Saturday morning I woke up sore all over and figured it had to do with the mulcher because my arms were so sore. BY the afternoon my whole body was aching and the chills came about. So, I think this is more than sore arms from the mulcher. I’ll take some NyQuil and hopefully things will look up.
On top of all that my internet service was on the blink, but then the power went out. It was all the wind that was going on all day. Now things are finally working again. It’s a good thing the snow is coming and I can just sit and sleep all day off and on.
