Thanks for all of your great comments, positive thoughts, and prayers on my story blog!
This has been an incredible week recovering at home. I have been home from the hospital 6 nights so far. In those 6 nights, I have had between 8 and 11 hours of sleep each day (combination of sleep plus naps). Last night was the longest with 10 hours; 45 minutes sleep plus a 45 minute nap today.
I have had sleep issues for many years. It seems the brain tumor might have contributed to that health issue.
Now I can tell I'm getting stronger each day and my brain is working better than before. I keep using the word "smoother."
My kids are getting pretty used to things now after the suddenness of my surgery, but my 12yo doesn't want to leave me, which is kind of cute. Already having had one kid cross over to teen land, I'll savor the younger one's pre-teen actions for as long as they last :).
Even our dog is being highly protective and laying by my side way more than normal.
Monday I get to go see Dr. Leng to show him that his handiwork is recovering well.
In my story, I forgot to thank my brother Joe for his help. He was there right away when he found out what was going on and then did a bunch of things like figuring out how to get my car home, which was a challenge. I appreciate him putting his life on hold to help me by being there for a long time and share updates with my wife and kids since they were so far away until being able to make it up there.
Joe used to be a coach at SP many years ago, so a few of you might remember him. Now he's doing a bunch of projects including modeling, acting, and photography.
Here is one great photo he took in San Francisco near my hospital:
Hope everyone had a great week!
