We made a "savings run" this morning.
I downloaded a coupon for $10 off a $10 or more purchase at Staples. I walked out of the store with two large tubs of store-brand disinfectant wipes, two cans of febreze for the basement. Total at checkout: $2.62.
Off to Walgreen's for a BOGO special and using a rain check and loyalty points.
I got 8 tubes of carmex, BOGO half off each. (I got 1,000 bonus points for each package) I had a rain check for paper plates for $.99/pk. They had large packs of TP on special that gave bonus points.
I then bought a three pack of Kleenex brand tissues that gave points and $1 Off.
At checkout, I used $20.00 in bonus points on the total purchase. Total at checkout for all of this: $2.76.

The cashier kindly told me that starting on November 4,2018, we can only use $5 in bonus points on a purchase.
It used to be, you could use $50, then $20, now it will be $5.
Once they got bought by another company, the prices soared and the benefits plummeted. They are yet another company wringing their own neck.
I rarely go there now unless I can get something less expensive than Kroger or elsewhere.

I am located within a one square mile of all of these stores. I barely put five miles on my car a week and am blessed to get great deals and have the space to stock up.

At Kroger this week, I saved over $40 at checkout and only paid $33. Quite a few free things, sales, and specials.
I get lots of steps in while shopping, going back and forth in the aisles, pushing that cart like I was driving an ambulance sometimes!
As I read this, it does sound like I run around a lot, but every place is very close and THEY send me the coupons! I use every penny saved, to buy new carpet, drapes, home renovations, and our vacation.

I like a good bargain, but you are the consummate shopper! We don't have all the chain stores locally, and most stores are a couple miles away at least. Walmart is 4 miles (but I can walk there from work easily). We rarely take advantage of our RiteAid points because we only get them on prescriptions - everything else they sell can be purchased elsewhere for half the price!

I try to get bargains too. We want to stay at a La Quinta and they were offering a discount. My husband called and booked a reservation, then he was told that only reservations booked online were eligible for discounts. Sometimes when things like this happen, it teaches us not to deal with a company and that is how we feel now about La Quinta.

We get our paper products, tissues and paper towels from a Community Depot here. The tissues are always less than $1 a box. After you shop there 10 times, you get a free box of tissues. Once we opened a box and none of the tissues were cut apart. My husband took the box back and was given two free boxes.

We don't buy toilet paper like that because some brands are too harsh on the back side. We go with our favorite brand.

You are a bargain hunter and I feel that for every penny I save, it is money that I can use on something else.

    Great job on saving emoticon

Wow, you are one thrifty shopper. I use to go the Walgreen all the time, and hadn't been there for over a year or more awhile back, cause there calcium tablet were always the cheapest. and wow, had they gone up, I didn't know they were bought out by someone else. I probably won't be back again, as I also notice things had gone up. Even there Post-it-not were higher than usual.
