I've been busy!
But anyway, my friends and I did have a good time at our Scrabble game (see previous entry) and I WON! And I helped Carol come in second place by finding her a way to have a 7-letter word near the end of the game!
Before playing, we dined on Vikki's delicious soup
and a rice/mushroom mixture that Carol called "chicken s**t', because that's kinda what it looked like!
On Monday, we had no schoo (Columbus Day)l.
I had my eye appointment. Afterwards, I made my famous pot roast: I had started marinating it in wine before I went to my appointment.
I use balsamic vinegar and brown sugar as well. I invited my coworker Becky (with whom I carpool). She brought Wegman's pumpkin roll for dessert!
We had started watching A Wrinkle In Time on Netflix and had about 1/2 hour more to go when I got a call from Carol. Her blood sugar was way high and she had been throwing up, and was wondering if I could come and feed and water her chickens. So Becky went home with the 2 containers of leftovers I gave her, and I scooted over to take care of the chickens and make sure CAROL was okay. (By the next day she had gotten the blood sugar down to the hundreds).
So NOW here's another weekend, and my plans are to settle in at my "Creation Station"
to try to finish underglazing the Scrabble cats I made, among other things, and I hope to get them firing today.
When I have to use the bathroom, I will also do more work at clearing out the sunporch. This means going through the boxes and bags of stuff my DD left behind. Clothing can be donated (although if it fits ME I will keep it) and toys will be reserved for when I go down to visit in December, cramming them in my van.
I may bake a couple of pumpkin pies - if not today, perhaps tomorrow - one for me, one for Becky, to have with coffee for breakfast.
WHAT? Pumpkin pie is healthy, isn't it? I mean, it's got pumpkin, eggs, and milk, right? Vegetable, protein, and dairy! ANd the crust - that's from GRAIN! Healthy, I tell you!
