Chapter 29, Day 79 - A good Challenge Week 1
Saturday, October 13, 2018
Despite some of my snacking nonsense, and a couple of missed days of fitness minutes, I saw good results on the scale this morning. I am relieved. I am motivated.
I know half of the 4# weight lost this week is from making the change to "smart carbing" which is what I call eliminating most of my starchy carbs from my daily food plan. I eat them, but when I am on plan, I keep them to half of what a serving is each meal and instead focus on complex carbs of fruits and vegetables.
Dr visit for the foot yesterday. I reported no new foot pain, because it seems to have disappeared for now. I was surprised to learn that the foot orthotic will not permanently shift the bones of my foot into proper walking position over time and that only surgery can do that. I was thinking orthotics are like braces for teeth and that wearing them over several years the bones would shift into proper position, like teeth do.
No Watkins Glen getaway for Fall foilage this weekend for DH and me. I cancelled when I learned the weather would be really cloudy, windy, temperatures at 50, and the paths still wet from a rain. We'll try again before the end of the month, but we'll need to find another location that is not yet past peak for the Fall colors.
It's the weekend....no new client work.....yay!
Lost 4# this week. That's a motivator.
Family time today at my niece's son's BD.
Walk, eat healthy, and STAY AWAY FROM BIRTHDAY CAKE!
Sit grands today, while their parents have dinner and compete on a bowling league for mixed couples.....like to see the kids get out and have some fun without the children.
Finally make that pot of chili, that I have been talking about for a week.
Have an awesome Saturday!
