Frosty pumpkins tonight!

Friday, October 12, 2018

Thirty one degrees is predicted for tonight! Ick. It was so depressing to have to turn the furnace on last night. We barely had a summer, and now autumn is bringing frost already. Michigan is supposed to have a very hard winter this year, so I am doubly happy that I am retired and no longer have to rise at three in the morning, shovel snow, then scrape windows and clear snowdrifts off my car just to get home.
Vito loves being in his sheltered garage, has lasted thirteen years because he is in there and gets his regular checkups.

It got so "cold" in Southern California after it finally rained last night that our bedroom was only 77 degrees in the middle of the night. Didn't even have to run the fans in the bedroom to sleep. If you never want to run a heater again, you should winter here in San Diego. We moved in over a year ago and have never needed a heater, let alone a blanket or a jacket. But I remember those things!

Rumor has it that we're in for a cold, wet winter. I hope it's wet! Stay warm! Big hugs.

I remember at the old house, I parked in an alley way. Water ran down the concrete alley when it rained. That iced up and was around my tires on the bottom and I could not get the tires thawed out quick enough to get to work. I have never seen anything like that, ice around the bottom of the tires up to the rim and hubcaps.

I am glad that you don't have this to do so early in the morning.

Let's run away to a warm climate for the winters, Lin. I know I'm old because it is 47 here right now and feels more like 27 UGH

Your state must be in the minority. This summer there were heat records being broke all over. This was one of our honest summers on record and the heat lasted for months straight.

Yep, there was ice on the bird bath this morning. Now it is time to dig the calla, canna, and dahlia bulbs. hopefully no more rain for the weekend, as S3 is coming home and he can help me get everything put away for the winder. Got to take free help when it shows up. lol He wants to take a bunch of my perennially home with him. Good deal, he took a lot last year, and what he don't use, he has a friend that will take the rest. Glad they (plants) will have a new home, and not tossed out.
