I have recently had to realign my focus. I had one heck of a spring/summer with my husband. We went to Scotland, I had 5 work trips, we saw a bunch of concerts, we went to Hershey Park for the first time ever, we went to Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone, my birthday came and went and we lived it up at Medieval Times, my sister visited once or twice, and overall we had a ton of fun. My tracking was hit or miss and taking my medications was hit or miss. I didn't worry too much. I was bouncing back from depression, bouncing back from ankle surgery I mitigated where I could, and continued to increase my fitness activity, but I was embracing adventure, knowing the scale would catch up and mentally told myself it was okay.
Well the scale caught up, but nowhere near like I thought it would. I'm up 15 pounds from March, some of which is muscle I worked back during my recovery. Basically I gained a little around 2 pounds for each month I was in recovery. Not too bad. Not that I'm celebrating it, but I'm definitely not beating myself up over it like I used to. So I jumped on the scale and I'm already down 5 of that 13 from getting back on track in September. My goal is to get the other remaining 10 pounds off by Thanksgiving.
Here's what I've noticed since getting back on track. I'm not as far off track as I thought. I did my first 5k and got my second best time ever! Without training ahead of time, so I am hoping to set a new personal best come OCT 27th when I do my next one.
I started using my wiifit again and when I had started using the wii fit it took me awhile to get to some of the levels I hit the first time with 4 stars. Like the short run felt so long the first few times I originally did them last year, now I got a perfect score on my first one. Then I did the long run and got another perfect score. It took me about a month to get that score last year. I gained 15 pounds back sure, but I was still down 38.9 from where I had started and my muscles remember the exercises, so starting over isn't too bad.. Wait no, I'm not starting over, I'm just picking up where I left off.
I'm back on schedule, back on track, back to my workouts, and racing towards onderland by 2019!
