While I know that fitness and nutrition go hand in hand, I've realized something about myself: my bigger issue is food.

I have a habit of bingeing after 8:00 pm -- a habit that is decently under control. I still slip up now and then, but I've learned a few tips. One is to have tea or hot water with lemon handy. The warmth calms me more than food does, and the extra hydration never hurts. Also, if I brush my teeth right after dinner, I can usually handle going to bed without a snack. Milk is a good choice if I've legitimately hungry. Extra calcium? Yes, please.

I've noticed, though, that I can work out for an hour a day and maintain my weight, but if I actually keep my daily caloric intake under 1500 calories, then I will actually lose. )I base the calorie limit on The Spark Solution's suggestion for my age, gender, and activity level.) I used to have a 1500-1800 calorie window...but I'm not 25 anymore.

So if I can keep control over my nutrition, then I can really shed these last few pounds. I've got a few pairs of size 8 pants just waiting to be worn again. I know they're cheering me on.
