My Cat Ramsey

Sunday, October 07, 2018

He is a orange tabby that my aunt found at work 9 years ago. He has been a spoiled prince ever since. Two years ago he was at a hefty 22 pounds. We changed his food and started to measure it out. He had picked my grandma as his human and she would feed him a full bowl of food a couple times a day. So about 2 cups a day. When her health got worse I took over and started to give him 1/3 cup 3 times a day. Over the past 2 months, give or take a few days, he has been drinking and peeing more. Last month I was looking at him and I thought that it looked like he lost some weight. I got the scale out and he was at 20 pounds. I couldnt remember what he was at his last visit so I just kept an eye on him. I could tell he has lost weight when I would pick him up. I weighed him again yesterday and it was 16 pounds. We took him to the vet today and $323.65 later we found out that he is a diabetic.

Once a cat is a diabetic, they are diabetic for the rest of their lives. He now has to get a shot everyday which I hope he gets use to FAST. Vet said we caught it early which is good. I cant give him human food anymore which will be hard. Not for me to give it to him but now I have to keep my eyes on my grandma who lets him eat from her plate. Last night I looked up some things that it could have been and it made me stressed. Finding out that it was diabetes, the better of the 3 issues, I was still stressed. Im crashing now and I just want to sleep. At least I dont get chest pains when Im stressed. I just get really tired and shut down.

Im going to rest now and watch a horror movie emoticon

Aw poor kitty. Give him lots of snuggles. Orange tabbies are the best!

Sorry to hear he has diabetes and that it won't get better. He is lucky to have found such loving people to share his life with. We have 2 dogs and they quickly become part of your family. I'm not sure why someone would have a pet if they didn't feel that way. Hope you enjoyed your movie.
