Last Saturday I went to my 50th reunion. It doesn't feel like 50 years. Time just really flies by.
It was fun seeing my friends. Some, it has been 10 years. My friend Robin and I saw each other 7 years ago. We commented on how we need to see each other as often as possible. I have a few friends I have known since grade school. Wow, that's a long time. Frank I have known since Kindergarten. He looked fantastic for 68 yrs.. Really nice guy. I just wanted to tell you all. If you have friends you haven't been in touch with for a while, call them..Write them, or email them. Since the 40th we had 6 people that passed away. 3 of them I was shocked. They were at the 40th and looked great. I don't want this to be a bummer blog, so I will get on with the music. Here are some of the popular songs we listened to in High School. The DJ played so many good songs. I can't play them all, so just picked a few. Have a wonderful week-end!
I went to the 35th. Most of the people were the same snobs I graduated with, but I do not do any social media and I still have the same phone number and address, so they can contact me. My dear friends are already in contact with me constantly. 11 days ago
Wanted to share a poster with you but.. did not figure out how. so I will do my best to describe the picture then quote the writing.
a van artfully painted as often seen in the 60's the background might be the long flatness of a desert at sunset.
When people say: "Stop living in the past", my thought in turn is, "But the music was so much better then !"
HS class of 1960,, and I am pretty sure every one thinks the music of their youth was "so much better!" thanks for sharing. Keep in touch with those who are important to you... you never know when you may never get another chance. 12 days ago
So good of you to go. And good suggestion. I don't really have friend from High school that I would want to reconnect with but there are others friends I should make a priority. 12 days ago
I didn't go to my 50th which was 3 yrs. ago. I saw another post of moving from country school to town which I did as well only in 3rd grade. I didn't have "friends" in my class and was one of 4 that were bullied. Went to the 40th to see if things had changed and they hadn't. So vowed to not return. Happy without them too. 13 days ago
Glad you had a great time. I haven't been to a class reunion for many many years, I was only in the grad. class my junior and senior year, when our small country school closed and we had to so to the town school, and there were only 4 in our class and 2 went to one school and 2 went to the one I went to. And Doug and I were never friends, so I went there with out knowing anyone, and never did fit in to all the clicks. But do get notices about once every 2 years about where everyone is. And did learn that Doug is gone, so there is no one I really want to see again. 13 days ago
I attended my 50 this year.....it was good to see so many still with us. I was sad at those that are gone.....it helped me appreciate even more how fortunate I am to be alive. I survived a level 4 Melanoma 19 years ago 13 days ago
