So Far, So Good

I had a great time at the conference yesterday as I caught up with a couple of former coworkers, and the speakers themselves weren't too boring! There were extra sandwiches that the staff encouraged us to take so they wouldn't be wasted, so I grabbed 4. I wasn't the only one. Someone even grabbed a boxful!
I removed the lettuce and tomato from them and popped them in the freezer to grab at various times for lunches. I had cooked up some rice a couple days ago, so last night I divvied it up into 4 containers and put THOSE in the freezer. I'm planning on making chili next Thursday - not TOO hot -
we're having a "chili cookoff" at school next Friday, and I figure I can make it Thursday and bring it in my crockpot. I have some assorted hot sauces that former residents left behind which I can offer to whosoever wants to spice it up a bit.
Anyway, if I have any leftover chili, I can mix it with the rice and freeze it for another few meals.
This morning I started cleaning for my company. Being down 7 people in the house, just me and Rosie, the dirt was mostly cat hair.
And I'm especially excited because I'm putting out my new dishes - These are the plates and bowls that Levi got as a prize for his great salesmanship. They aren't super fancy, but they are OURS, Levi's and mine, and so I feel like the new chapter in my life is really taking off! (I took my other old plates and boxed them to take to Goodwill.) So here is my table setting (cutlery to be added) with my Shipibo tablecloth, the dinner and bread plates, and soup bowls!
I have fresh batteries in my camera to record our time together today for my next blog!
