#30. Puzzles on my Kindle

Thursday, October 04, 2018

I have always enjoyed doing puzzles.
And these days my Kindle has become my favorite place to do them.
On the airplane I used to buy Dell puzzle books and spend the flight working them.
Now, I just bring my Kindle.

The first game I played was Spider Solitaire.
After that came Sudoku -- a real favorite.

My newest one is Jumble - where I have to unjumble letters to form words. Clues are given in the form of cartoons.

There are some puzzles that I did in the Dell books that I still need to find for my Kindle: Acrostics and MasterWords.

Actually, my Kindle Fire is what I use as a replacement for my laptop when I am traveling.
In addition to doing puzzles on it, I can:
-- access the internet, including my email
-- log onto SP to read and write blogs
-- read a book
-- read the news
-- watch a tv show or a movie.

One thing I do is keep the Kindle by my bed.
I will read or do puzzles until I get sleepy. (The Kindle emits a softer light during nighttime to avoid negative effects from the Blue light given off by tablets.)
Sometimes I can even be found reading or doing puzzles in the wee hours of the morning.

I like playing "Words with Friends " with my Mom with my Kindle Fire. We usually have 3 to 6 puzzles going at a time. She likes to take her turn in the afternoons and I usually take my turn before I go to bed. She lives an hour away from me. 🙂

I only have a paperwhite Kindle, so it doesn't do the puzzles. You've given me some reasons why I might want a Fire, since when I fly, I don't take the laptop. Since this most recent trip I drove, I took the laptop along, so I had full access in the motel rooms... to Spark and all!

    Thank you!

I have thought about getting one too. I go to the library every week and get books. I also buy Dell and other crossword books. I love Acrostics!

I like the daily jigsaw, word search, daily diff, snoop. There are tons of games to choose from. I have been visiting this site for years, I do not know if it will work on a kindle.

Each morning I work the two crossword puzzles and word Jumbles in our newspaper but have not given the Sudoku or other puzzles in our paper a try. I used to play Solitaire on my PC Desktop but quit cold turkey as I was spending far too much time on it.

I thought Kindle was exclusively for reading e-books so I learned my something new for today.

I've loaded my iPad with the same things for the same reasons. When I'm home, I still like the feel of holding a book!

I did not know that a Kindle could be used for writing blogs, checking emails etc. Hmmmmmm.

Haven't liked Kindles for reading books (cannot turn the pages fast enough . . . ) but maybe I should rethink this!!
