Seems like I'm always saying good-bye

Monday, September 24, 2018

Let's start with Thursday. I've been battling sciatic pain again for about 3 months. It's debilitating. I finally broke down and let them do injections in my back. The pain has eased but it's still there somewhat.

Saturday evening I found out my 61 yr old cousin Debbie passed away Thursday while babysitting her grandson She had just warmed up a bottle. It was still warm when her daughter found her. She didn't answer her phone. They knew something happened, she died mere feet from the baby bed.

Sunday evening my step-son David came by at 9:30pm. Way out of the normal for him to come that late. He was stopping by to tell me his dad, my ex, Marvin, had been killed while downing a tree. Again he didn't answer his phone, the kids got worried and went looking for him.

Please keep these families in your prayers.

It's silly how life events such as these always take me on a musical tour of some sort or other and once again I am reminded of these lyrics...

Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)
The Byrds

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late
