Visiting with my DS, DDIL, DGS, and DGD is always fun.
Just the adults went to dinner last night, with enjoyable coversation. We ordered several dishes and shared them, buffet style. I watched my portions.
I also said "No thanks" earlier to the two delicious chocolate chip cookies the hotel gives to all who are checking in.
There was some excitement yesterday when I went to pick up my rental car. There were a number of police cars in presence and all arriving customers were redirected to go around the building away from them because of what was termed a "police action". I noticed one car with a flat tire, and bbq someone lying on the ground, not moving.
My first thought was that some poor soul had had a heart attack and had lost control of the car, and then collapsed. But as I approached the building from another angle, I saw there was a man sitting with handcuffs on, surrounded by 5-6 police officers.
He looked like an ordinary man in his 50s.
Perhaps he had attempted to steal a car? Maybe the flat tire was the result of the spikes in the road where the sign warns against backing up?
It was definitely more exciting than the usual car rental experience.
Tomorrow morning we will all enjoy the large breakfast buffet at my hotel. This is one setting that is usually a problem for me -- the breakfast buffet. Breakfast becomes a bigger meal, and there is a large variety of tempting foods. I will eat more than my usual breakfast, but will limit the carbs.
This hotel also has an indoor pool which my grandkids have enjoyed many times.
The rest of the weekend will be filled with two soccer games and a birthday party.
Here's wishing all my SP friends a weekend of good food and good company.
