My 40th Birthday!

Well, today is my 40th birthday, which I'm happy about, but I'm even happier about something else. I have been trying very hard to lose weight since about April, and I dropped about 8 lbs., but then I plateaued at 206 in about June. I have been staying steady at between 206-209 for 3 or 4 months now, and I didn't know if I was ever going to get out of that plateau. But this morning I weighed myself and I am down to 205! It's not much, but I think it's a reason to celebrate! So why have I dropped? I've been doing something different the past week. According to SP, I should be eating between 1600 and 1900 calories, but I decided to go down to 1200-1400 calories. I have successfully stayed in that range all week, and I think that's what I'm going to have to do to lose weight. If I eat 1200 calories a day, I still feel hungry at night, but if I'm closer to 1400 calories, I don't have the nighttime cravings. I also haven't gotten up at night to eat at all this week, which is something I'm really bad about. I'm just taking it one day at a time, and every night I just tell myself that I have to battle just this night and not the other nights. I also have been exercising more, about 20-30 minutes 2 times per week. I'm trying to get it up to about 45 minutes 3-4 times per week, but it's going to take a while to do that because I get tired very easily. So that's it! Here's to the big 4-0!
