Well, this past week was the Pendleton Round-Up. Lots of activity: the rodeo, Happy Canyon (an Indian Pageant), and vendor's stalls down Main Street and on every corner. Out little town about doubles in population this second week every September.
I do not attend the festivities any more - just hibernate in my little apartment. But, my ex has tickets so my daughter and her family do enjoy all the events. And this year one of Kathi's chickens was a star in Happy Canyon. Not sure how she did, but sure she was "beside herself" with all the excitement.
One amazing thing is the clean-up afterward. Saturday is a big night on Main Street - lots of live music and partying. Then Sunday morning driving into town - you could not guess that just the night before there was so much activity - the stalls are gone, the streets are clean, and it is very quiet. Back to normal for another year!!
