Sunday was a day when I ate more than I should have.
It was the delicious orange corn bread that is served at one of our favorite breakfast places that did me in.
After a week of denying myself, I indulged in the corn bread.
The weekend was lots of fun - and I enjoyed the time spent Saturday night babysitting my local grandson. I brought with me a bunch of books on analogies and logic problems for kids in grades K-3 (that I used as a teacher) and we went all the way through one of them together.
He would know the answer - and I would ask him to explain HOW he knew. That was the hardest part, he said. But it is important for him to understand the process he is going through to solve those problems. It will help him when the problems become more complex.
This morning I have a list of things to do for the day that will spill over to the whole week.
Lesson one on my online photo course got lost in this week's activities, so that is something I will work on this week.
Also, I must write up a piece for the local paper about the new film club at the library that will start next week. Plus, I need to read up on each of the films we will be showing, to gather interesting facts to share with the group. This will be a learning process, because I have never talked about films before. Books, yes. There's a whole cinematography aspect that I will have to learn about.
It will be a short week here for me, because early on Friday I fly to the west coast to visit with my son and his family and my two wonderful grandkids out there.
Before anything, though, I will walk. The weather is good, so I can do it outside among the trees, which I love.
I am wishing you a bright Monday morning - with a good week ahead.
