#11 New Menus
Sunday, September 16, 2018
A lot of restaurants today have menus that list Small Plates instead of Appetizers, and Large Plates instead of Entrees.
This new categorization of the foods lends itself to more flexible kinds of eating. For example, a group of people dining together may order up a number of Small Plates and/or Large Plates, and then share that food between them, buffet-style.
Anyone in the group who wants his/her own meal, and is not interested in taking from the common plates on the table, can order a plate that is just for him/her. And that individual plate can be either Small or Large.
These days, when I go to a restaurant, I typically order my food from the Small Plates section. There is plenty of food on that plate for my meal.
