Do you know the voice of the Bridegroom?
“And He [Jesus] said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe, In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mark 16:15-18 NKJV).
Jesus said that these miracles will accompany those who believe: in His name they cast out demons; they speak with new tongues; they removed serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them. Jesus goes on to say that believers will lay hands on those who are ill and they will recover. If Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and His church is to be filled with those who have put their faith in Him, and are confident His words are true, then we should see the things that Jesus did also taking place among believers today.
When was the last time you witnessed believers in your congregation speaking a Word of Knowledge from the Holy Spirit and another member interpreting the message? When have we witnessed an instant healing by the laying on of hands. We hear of exorcisms needing to be performed all over the world, yet would we as believers be confident enough to cast out a demon spirit in Jesus’ name if we needed to? If Jesus said we, as believers, were to do these things in His name, then we must ask ourselves, and our pastors, are we prepared to carry out the works that Jesus did?
In John 12:48 NKJV, Jesus says, “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him - the words that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.”
