Takin' it slow

I have battled weight my entire life. I can drop weight like nobody's business on a low/no carb diet, but it seems as soon as I eat a piece of bread crust, it starts inching its way back. I just don't want to live my life with forbidden foods. I've found, after much trying and failure, that what works best for me is to just eat what I like - in moderation - and not look at it like, "I need to lose 50 pounds", but just worry about losing that next pound. My doctor has a "health coach" that works in his office. I'm meeting with her occasionally and she has helped me look at this as just a series of baby steps. It's not rocket science when you really think about it. Just pick one thing that you can work on. Get that under control, and then add another small step. I am down 7 pounds and feel like for once this is sustainable.
