I had my wellness visit with my doctor today. Her scale showed I weigh more than my home scale does, BUT, I have lost 30 pounds this year. I knew my scale was off, so I was not at all surprised. I should have stepped on the scale at home this morning just to compare, but I forgot. I also forgot to eat breakfast and that turned out to be a good thing since my visit included a fasting blood test. Note to self: DRINK MORE WATER! The tech could tell I have not been regularly hydrating...
The precursor storms, a pair were forecast, have not arrived. Hurricane Florence is supposed to make landfall late tomorrow night, roughly. I live about 4 hours from the coast, so rain is about all I will see. We went shopping yesterday and none of the stores had any water. I was lucky to find batteries for our radio at, of all places, an auto parts store. The clerk was surprised they still sold non-car batteries. I got their last package of D cell batteries. Next time, I need to plan better. We have water - I just wanted more in case the power goes out for any length of time. We have water in the freezer (if the power goes out, that will help preserve for a little longer) and we have water staged throughout the house, but...I wish I had started preparing sooner. Even this far in, gas prices have jumped. My tank is full, so I can only hope the spiked price drops before I need to fill up again.
We are fortunate. The house is very solid. It is up on a small hill, not likely to be flooded. I do have flood insurance since we live in the secondary zone or whatever it's called. And I have the green light to work from home until Florence is history.
IF I really step it up, I could get to my goal weight before the cruise in November 2019. Better choices need to be made.
Thank you for the goodies and comments on blogs about recent sorrowful events. I appreciate every comment and goodie!
