morning cuppa spark - a break

my body demanded it. it kept on trucking along until last wednesday; my fitbit numbers say it all - monday and tuesday i hit my standard 15,000, then wed the crud hit and i was down to 7500, thursday i was on the couch at 3400, friday not much better at 4800, but saturday came the turn around, back to 8300, and by sunday i was up above 10k as a "normal" activity but non-exercise day. so we slowly managed to pack up the house and garden, shut it down, and flew home yesterday. sitting now with jet lag today.

so there has been no exercise for a week, and i think my body appreciated that break. as for meals, kept things pretty much according to plan, though i did have a bit of an "aha" moment on a day when i omitted one of my favorite snacks, salty pretzel sticks. my weight was a good bit lower the next morning considering the lack of change to diet otherwise, and i suspect that salt is something that needs greater control.

we will pick up claire today, and see how we are feeling as to whether or not we'll head over the mountains - DH is still not up to snuff, and though he is way better than the week when he was so sick, we're concerned about a relapse or even a new round from all the bugs we were exposed to on three planes yesterday. so, there might be an extra day in seattle, and an extra day of restaurant choices. we'll see. exercise will be limited to errands and claire's basic needs for now. have to make sure not to overdo.

haven't had the energy to pick up the camera lately, but here is a shot that i took of the space needle as we were landing at Seatac yesterday!
