$300+ and Belated Thoughts

I took a mental health day on Friday. I was in a bad mood, emotional mood for several days prior to that. I learned that a coworker died over the holiday weekend and, so soon after my mother's passing, I was at the emotional saturation point. As it turned out, it was a good thing I was home to see my youngest cat, just a year old, moving abnormally on Friday morning. He is a rambunctious orange tabby. This is the kitten that someone left in our front yard last fall when he was just a few weeks old. We named him Ponce de Pounce
(Ponce as in explorer since he immediately acted as if he owns our yard and home). Long story short and over $300 poorer, he has a herniated disk in his spine and the inflammation was causing the back leg issues. He is on pain meds and is a very happy cat right now! We go back in 3 weeks to make sure he's ok.

This weekend, as we were running errands, we kept finding pumpkin spice coffees (not at Starbucks but at convenience stores/gas stations. I love the flavor and had a partial cup on Saturday and Sunday, even though those ingredients are not healthy. Whether as a consequence of the first one or for other reasons, my tummy was unhappy Saturday night and I scarfed down a lot of oyster crackers. As if I need any more sodium!

I did not remember until this morning that I have my wellness check-up on Wednesday. What's the first thing they will want me to do? Step on the scale! I wish I had remembered this was coming. I would not have had those coffees or the crackers! I really want to be pleasantly surprised when I see the number!

Back to water and all the other good choices!
