WW Week 7 Recap -- Onederland Edition
Thursday, September 06, 2018
After multiple weeks of having almost no weigh loss, just fractions of a pound per week, I had a big loss this week, putting me firmly in Onederland!! I have seen it on my scale at home already, as I weigh in first thing in the morning, before getting dressed, but hadn't seen it at my official WW weigh in until today. I also reached my 10 lb loss charm at my meeting today, so it was a pretty big day for me. I got really emotional and a little misty-eyed when my meeting leader presented me with the 10 lb loss award.
Other than that, my week has been pretty uneventful. I wasn't feeling well on Saturday and was completely exhausted too, so we didn't go to Prairie du Chien. I basically stayed on the couch and read most of the day, then we watched a movie that evening. I can tell it's fall, because cuddling with the cat while reading and drinking tea sounds like exactly what I want to do, all the time, lol! I still have a lot of housework and some yard work that needs to be done while the weather is still nice though, so need to get my butt in gear. I find that if I put on music or a podcast to listen to while I clean/organize/whatever, I'm a lot more motivated.
I have not been regularly doing the body weight exercises I meant to implement when taking my pills, I'm still working on making that a habit. I have done it a few times, but not enough. My biggest loser challenge this week is strength training, so I did get into the weight room a few times this week. Today was a rest day and I will do some more tomorrow and the rest of the week. It rained all day but I did a Leslie Sansone video to get my daily walk in. I'll probably be doing a lot more of those once winter snow arrives, so I want to try and get outside as much as possible between now and then. I should be able to keep walking outside into or through November for sure, maybe even December.
This weekend is the last car show of the season, for me, anyhow. I will be up near La Crosse all weekend for that. Still need to get a hotel room, so I better get on that after I finish up here. It should be a lot of fun. The weekender is called Mississippi Mayhem, since it is near the river. I have been to it before, but it has been a few years, so I'm looking forward to it.
I have not been doing my PT eye exercises yet, I need to get that set up and start doing it at least once a day. I am suppose to sit about 3-4 feet from a wall with something taped to it at eye level for me to focus on. I am also suppose to hold something at arm's length and alternate focusing on one and then the other, first with both eyes (switching hands holding the object after a while), then with one eye covered, then the other eye, for about 30 seconds each. I can't switch where I'm looking until the first object comes into focus. This is suppose to help the eye/brain disconnect I mentioned last week. Apparently when there is too much to focus on, the body can stay in fight or flight mode, which can then increase stress and pain in the body.
Still no word on the job I interviewed for last week and I got a rejection email from another job today, but I just need to keep applying for stuff and eventually I will get something I (hopefully) like. We're doing okay financially for now, and the waitressing brings in some money. I could pick up Mondays at my local comic book shop as well if I wanted, but I would end up spending more than I made, lol.
Weight Loss To Date: 13.8 lbs
