Tomorrow is not Promised
Wednesday, September 05, 2018
For the fifth time this year, all of the employees were greeted with an email from our CEO with "Sad News" as the subject line. Yet another coworker has died. I nearly fell out of my chair when I read the name. I used to work with Nancy in the same department and have known her for almost all of the 17 years I've worked for this company. There were no details, but I learned late today that she had a terminal illness. She died over the weekend. Being a very private person, none of us had any idea. We are stunned.
As if we needed the reminder that tomorrow is not promised. Since the news came, I've been taking a moment to say things that should not be left unsaid. So, too, here I go:
Thank you, SparkGuy, for launching this site. Thank you for hiring knowledgeable people to help us. Thank you, Sparkfriends, for all of your support. Your kind words. Your thought-provoking blogs and inspirational pictures. You may never know the impact that you have, but, trust me, I would not still be here if it were not for all of you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
