Monday morning

Monday, September 03, 2018

I have been doing leg lifts on my bed before rising in the morning. What an easy and healthy way to start. It is just the PT workout that I always did, so good for my knees and hips.
Buddy called me yesterday to tell me that there was a fire next to his trailer in Oscoda. He was washing his hands and heard a guy yelling and screaming outdoors, so he went out and the guy is telling him that there is a fire! Next door. The last potluck of the season in the condo park is a pig roast, so Lance and Dorene had baked beans in the oven which somehow caught on fire and they were at the end of the street cooking the pig. So sadly, their little Yorkie was in the bedroom with the door closed and Buddy did not know it when he broke in and tried to put the fire out. The black smoke was right out to the sliding patio doors, so they had to get out or die in the fire.
The fire department sprayed his Florida room and trailer to keep it from burning up as well, but Lance's place is a total loss.

I am so sad that their little dog died. They went in afterwards and wrapped him in a towel and took him out.
Buddy felt so bad that he did not save him, but they ALWAYS take that dog wherever they go, so he did not even think of him not being down the street at the roast. The firemen did tell him that the dog was dead within a minute or so, so he was already dead when they entered to try to put the fire out.
This trailer was beautiful, all upgraded like a stick-built home because these people are wealthy and buy the best. It is only meant as a fishing getaway, so they did not buy a $1,000,00 home. They donate a lot of their money instead. They are both retired and own some big company down near Grand Rapids, some huge company; I forgot what it produces, but he also owns a bank, so they will buy a new place and put it back in the same spot.
They are nice people and I am glad they are staying there. He is president of the condo association, so they will just start over for a getaway place.
Poor little puppy..

Why sit up by yourself when you can lean on a tree and still get treats?

Ship rudder in front of Whitefish Point Lighthouse 2018

DD tried to capture a picture of the SIX eagles flying over SOMETHING at Whitefish Point Bird Observatory which is next to the Lighthouse quad area. Only one was there by the time she took the picture. They kept diving and soaring up and down into the trees. We still do not know what they were circling!

So sorry for your loss. However with all your resources you would be able to restore your cabin in no time and make it even better and more beautiful. Don’t get another pet to replace the lost one. Give it a chance to deal with your loss... Happy

I so sorry to hear about Lance and Dorene's loss, especially their little dog. So sad. Irrespective of their apparent wealth I'm sure the loss hit them hard. On the other hand it's good to hear they will return and rebuild. Thanks for sharing the photos

Hope you have a good Labor Day.

That's so sad about what happened to Buddy's neighbors. That certainly put a damper on all the Labor Day Weekend festivities.

It also is good for the back. When I had sciatic trouble and was in PT for it, that was one of the exercises that I was suppose to do before getting out of bed, alone with lag twists, bring feet up toward butt, and then twist them to the mattress on both sides. They both really helped.
