Day 23: Happy
Tuesday, August 21, 2018
I'm happy this morning. Let's unpack that.
I just had a delightful 400-calorie breakfast: an egg/spinach/turkey bacon/cheese scramble with toast and a nectarine. Now I'm relaxing with my coffee.
My muscles feel good and tight from last night's taekwondo class -- and from instilling the habit of daily exercise in general.
My day is free with a 5:00 writing coach session, my last one of the summer. My student is wonderful, so this is always a welcome hour. (And the $30 cash is welcome, too!)
I plan to set the timer for 60 minutes and pretend I'm a cleaning lady in my own house. Let's see how much a get done.
My weight? It hasn't changed much. Today, I weighed in at 157.6. But I have to remember that I'm down 1.4 pounds for the month. My goal is to lose 3 pounds total.
Yesterday, my mom wanted to eat lunch at a Chinese buffet. I talked her into Panera instead so I could track my food instead of bingeing. Yay! Also, while shopping, I treated myself to a $40 dress at Marshalls. It's beautiful: an A-line cut that is so flattering to a woman's shape, dark background with Asian-inspired florals. It's probably too fancy for a middle school teacher, but I may wear it to work anyway.
So I'm happy. All the best to your happiness today as well!
