Maintaining Around My All Time Low
Monday, August 20, 2018
I recently joined with my wife on a 2 week body cleanse retreat bodymindretreats.com
which was held at the Ithaca Zen Center. Such an interesting experience and gorgeous grounds with trails through nature, sampling wild mulberries and wood-burning saunas with a pond outside to dip in and savor the lotus flowers around the fringe of the pond. Meditation sessions with the Zen Master, yoga classes, nutritional classes.
The food was highly challenging, however my "food as fuel" mentality served me well, albeit seriously tested! Extraordinarily healthy, much liquid / juice, etc. HUGELY bland & vegan. Some savory surprises...the guacamole and other dishes.
I came away 10 pounds lighter which pushed me through my lengthy plateau that fluctuated between 215-225 pounds. I wrapped up at 210 pounds, SO close to my all-time low of 207. But in the weeks since then I've been hovering between 210-208.
The cool thing was they were touting many of my strategies: intermittent fasting, ketogenic low-carb and weekly fasts from Sun. eve through Tues. lunch.
Just enjoyed a hilly 35 mile ride this past weekend and looking forward to our bike club's annual Labor Day Trip to Tibbett's Point near the 1,000 Islands area of northern New York. We'll take the ferry over to Canada and ride around there, come on back to the hostel and enjoy all the yummy food everyone brings as we fire up the campfire and I bring out my guitar.
All in all, life is better than it's ever been! Every day my gratitude just flows over!
Hoping all has been well for you as well!
