Round three?

Monday, August 20, 2018

With both lupus and reactive hypoglycemia, my immune system is pretty well compromised. I have been fairly anti social in the past... and remained mostly healthy.., I have been making a point of being more socially active... and I am picking up infection after infection. I think I may need to rethink my attempt to socialize more... I saw the PA at my doctors office this morning and she sent me for tests, because she thinks I have picked up yet another infection... a different one than what the first two were... the staph infection seems to be gone, thank goodness, but I still have symptoms that indicate an infection of some kind... I suggested maybe my symptoms were just lingering side effects of the antibiotic... but she said that was extremely doubtful at this point. So, it is yet another “wait and see” until the test results come back... however long that takes. In the meantime I am still sick, miserable and cranky... but things need to get accomplished, so I am doing what needs to be done despite myself. It is supposed to rain tomorrow morning starting around 4am, so at least Cooper’s walk will be a short one in the morning. It isn’t helping matters that I am not sleeping well. I need to start taking the melatonin again. I didn’t take it while I was on the antibiotics, because I knew I had to get up in the middle of the night to take the medication... and I was worried about sleeping through a dose. Now I need to get back into the habit of taking it at bedtime again. It did help. It was a subtle, yet definitive improvement in the quality of my sleep. Definitely worth it. No excuses tonight...
