A New Direction

It has been awhile since I've logged on, and it isn't because I have forgotten about my determination to lose weight. No, the pain and frustration with being in so much pain and trying to figure out why just needed my focus. But now, I'm pain free and back to starting to get back to normal.
I'm taking things slow, as to not go backwards. I found out that I had a pinched nerve as part of a pulled groin strain, so I'm being very careful as to not to aggravate that any further. But in the process, I did find that my 5 year old mattress was done. I bought cheap when I bought my house 5 years ago, and I'm paying the price, and probably have been for awhile. So, I went out and bought a nice one this time around. It is to be delivered tomorrow afternoon, and I'm looking so forward to having a perfect night's sleep. Finally!
On top of that, I started classes as part of a PhD program for a Learning Sciences program at a major university here in Indiana. I had originally thought of just a certificate, but I was forwarded information on a autism course, and the whole pursuit took on a new life. So, I am now on course for a complete PhD program in Psychology in Education: Learning Sciences in Media and Technology for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
What I hope to do is to combine the studies in the PhD program with my undergraduate studies (Professional Writing for Business Applications Development) and develop learning applications that are catered specifically toward those in the Autism Spectrum. My inspiration is my 6 year old nephew who is autistic.
Who knew a little blonde hair, blue eyed boy would change my life that much!
