After Run Coffee

We ran 11 glorious miles today. My pace group leader is a hoot and I had lots of fun. Several people dropped out after the first 5 mile loop, but 3 of us were raring to go and added a mile to the scheduled 10, running in circles waiting for the slower 7 people In our group. After the run we all sat drinking coffee for an hour. We did a good cool down and some stretch before coffee.
Right before I left I heard that one runner suffered heat exhaustion and I thought she was a whole lot younger and fitter than many of us. Good reminder to stay hydrated. The ARNP in our group said if you have heat exhaustion once you are more susceptible to it in the future. I will be careful and remind my group to drink water and get electrolytes as recommended.
