Why is losing weight so hard?

Thursday, August 16, 2018

I need to lose weight! I need to be better about what I eat!

Here are my reasons:

1) I hate how I look in photos.
2) I hate how my clothes are tight.
3) I'm not happy.
4) My A1C was risen and it isn't healthy for me.
5) I get too winded doing many things.
6) Maybe my hives will get better.

So the real question is why don't I do what I need to do to lose the weight. Lack of will power. Things are brought into the house and if I see it, I eat it! Plain and simple. I have asked for certain foods not to be in the house but it still seems to find its way in.

I will start with meal planning. This will help and also adds variety.

I want to also say water and exercise but slow and steady is better. So menu planning.

Oh, Tova!! I just glanced over to the side of our Team's Main Page and saw this!! I don't know why I didn't *see* it b4 NOW, but I'm *here* to say I KNOW you can 'do' this - even w/the junk foods coming into the house. Maybe...you could role-play in your head, e.g. pretend you're at Hogwarts and the *stuff* coming in to your House Common Room (the junk) has been tampered w/spells to mess w/your ~*~magic~*~ or 'something' like that. It starts in our head - so if you begin *there* the mind will grow stronger and NOT be weak to the 'hexes' sent in from Knockturn Alley. Same thing with your water & exercise. Maybe say the water spell over n' over in your head till it 'clicks' and imagine you're our Captain on the Quidditch Pitch Team.

I know there's the 'mind-over-matter' Steps that work for some, that willpower can overcome physical obstacles, but... ... ...I don't work well with strict rules, so my imagination will have to do. Let's keep an eye on one another this Tri-Term. I have a 'feeling' we can 'do' this. ::hugs::

You have chosen a starting point: meal planning. As a result of that, you will be able to serve healthy, nutritious foods. Each step in a positive direction makes a difference.

You mentioned, "Things are brought into the house and if I see it, I eat it! Plain and simple. I have asked for certain foods not to be in the house but it still seems to find its way in. "

I found some articles that might give you some ideas on handling this. I hope they provide some possible tips for you as you deal with this situation. Some of the suggestions may well be ones you choose NOT to follow!
