Busy Week So Far

Thursday, August 16, 2018

Have decided that the best way to keep a track on my food and diet is to blog about what I do everyday. I am truly amazed at the amount of time I sit around doing nothing...have been chiding myself that I have gotten lazy as I seem to be doing so little in a day.
Then the consolation being that maybe it just takes me longer to get around doing the same stuff that requires me to move around.

Had a busy Tuesday and I went shopping with my DILs #2 & 3 and then a late lunch with just some walking as my nurse left early. Actually I called her in early by 7:00 am as I needed to get my exercises and bathing done before breakfast as we set out to go shopping by 10:30. Had all my shopping done by 1:30 and waiting for the shop owner to send across the parcel for us.

On Wednesday had a relaxed morning with my usual round of exercise and chair yoga and then made some stuffing for parathas (a whole wheat bread) - Made a mushroom, corn and spinach stuffing and supervised my helpers who rolled them out. Made a batch of almost 25 and sent out a set of 5 each for all my sons homes as they all enjoy them. That was my lunch and dinner and my DIL#1 sent us some meat balls which Hamid had for dinner.

Well today seems to have so far unfolded as a relaxing day, and my daughter is sending us food today, she called in the morning to say so as she was making her father's favorite dumplings. Also some sad news, my youngest DIL's grandma who is a dear friend of mine, rather a childhood buddy, has been hospitalized due to severe gastritis. She was rushed to emergency late last night due to throwing up violently and is on IV and very dehydrated. If I feel upto it, will have my go with my DIL to visit her grandma at the hospital this evening. By the way my nurse didn't turn up this morning, had to wait till 9:30 and then when we called she says that she is sick and can't come. So managed my routine this morning with help for one of my girls and Husband.

the weather here has been pretty inclement and a lot of places have been saying devastation due to floods... please keep everyone in your prayers.

Somehow I lost track of you on Spark! So glad to see that you are still here and still blogging. I always enjoyed reading about your wonderful family! The stuffed parathas sound wonderful. I think I need to find a recipe!

I hope your friend will soon get better. Gastritis can be very serious but most patients do well. I had a bout of gastritis last winter and spent a night in the hospital. We had eaten in a restaurant that evening and I think it was a form of food poisoning.

The parathas sound delicious. It's wonderful to share food with family! Sorry to hear about health issues for your childhood friend. I believe a visit from you if possible would cheer her up. I am seeing a good friend today that I've known since high school days. We are seeing a play and dinner tonight. Old friendships are ones deeply treasured. Enjoy your day...

The parathas sound absolutely delicious....It is wonderful that your family shares food! Sorry to hear of the health issues of your childhood buddy; I know a visit from you would cheer her up. I also have a childhood friendship of over 60 years....we grew up next door to each other over 1000 miles from where both of us currently live. After multiple moves around the U.S. on each of our parts, we ended up only a 2 hour drive apart! Those old friendships are a treasure, indeed!
