Update for today

Today marks 19 days since I joined Planet Fitness gym. I never in my life thought I’d like it but I love it.
I’m getting more comfortable going in and doing my thing. I just wish I could do more however my upper body is still painful and I’m apparently not healed. My sternum, ribs and shoulders and collarbone took the brunt of my fall. I’m told that I’m lucky I didn’t break my sternum. One of my doctors and I discussed my injuries in full our last appointment. I see my primary care doctor on the 23rd. So who know.
I will be going to my brother’s house over Labor Day weekend then going to Florida for two weeks with him and friends on September 14th. I can’t wait to get my beach walks in.
My summertime migraine pattern has set in. That means daily migraine pain. I can’t take meds everyday for fear of the dreaded rebound effect of headaches. So I’m just trying to make it through the painful days.
I’m happy with the progress I’ve made on my routine at the gym. I also still do my Leslie Sansone walking routines and ride my exercise bike as it doesn’t hurt my knees as bad as the gym’s bikes.
I babysat for the “grand kids” yesterday. They’re a 2 year old girl, 5 year old and 8 year old boys. It was a challenging day yesterday. I had woke up and my migraine hit just before they arrived a few hours later. We had a couple incidents with the 5 year old that stressed everyone out. Then a sleepy 2 year old had a meltdown wanting her momma. All ended well. My body a little worse for the wear.
My collarbone down to my waist is hurting. Those little hands pushing on me to try and see what was behind me, left their mark.
I did get in 15 minutes on my exercise bike last night and get just over 14,000 steps in yesterday.
Today I’m just over 7160 steps and have 30 minutes in with Leslie Sansone walking too. I had to resort to OTC pain meds for my migraine. It’s dulled down a bit but it’s still throbbing.
My biggest problem is my food intake. Part of that is because of this migraine. I have so many migraine trigger foods it just gets tiring eating around them. Throw in IBS problems and that limits it even more. It’s nothing new and I know what I need to do but the heat, migraines and asthma and allergies are getting the best of me right now. After crops are harvested life will be easier. Plus when mowing season is over will help, I’m allergic to grass so outdoor activities are out of the question right now.
Otherwise I’m grateful for another day of life and my family and friends. Grateful for my life and all I have.
Take care. Make each day the best you can.
My challenge to you today is to step out of your comfort zone in some aspect of your life. Challenge yourself to go a few extra steps, a few more reps, just try to go a little beyond yesterday’s goals.
