Beginning of a New Routine and Discharging a Duty
Monday, August 13, 2018
I got up early, before sunrise, but not for a run today. Today it was picking Natalie up by 7am to get her to Union Academy in Bartow and then getting me to jury duty at the courthouse in Bartow by 8:05. Traffic was extremely congested. We spent 20+ minutes in line to drop Natalie off, but it all worked out.
The last 2 times I did jury duty, 1) federal in Tampa and 2) county in Bartow, I was extremely stressed. This time it was no problem. I was a little impatient in the traffic congestion, but I thought I'd get there on time and I did. Didn't stress too much. I rode the elevator several times to the courtroom on the 5th floor without panicking. Generally I could do everything expected of me including answering the questions. Whew. Maybe it is that I'm completely through menopause, but I think I'm a whole lot closer to sane than I was a couple years ago. Having a normal weight and feeling like a normal person are two separate but related issues!
I took my lunch and was glad I did. No problem eating right. Did have to sit quietly a lot. I got steps whenever I could, but a lot of sitting was required. I set twice for jury selection but was not selected. Not disappointed. Relieved.
Here's picture of both kids at Gwen's school orientation last week. Natalie went to that school last year:

Love the attitude!
Natalie's first day of 6th grade:
It was early. She was kind of goofy for the pix, but I heard (her mom could pick her up today) the day went well and she's looking forward to tomorrow. I'll be taking her again tomorrow, and picking up both girls.
We will once again work out a new routine. Healthy eating will be part of that routine as will be sticking to my half marathon training plan and getting adequate exercise on non-run days, too.
Wishing you healthy routines to support your fitness goals!!
