Havana bad weakend is no big dill.
Feels good to be home. We went to visit my brother and take him Mom's cookbooks. It was a bittersweet trip. We got along great, no conflicts whatsoever. He has no problem with me burying Mom with Dad, which is a huge blessing. Other brother will most likely have a fit about it, but I'll deal with that when the time comes. I'm going to put things off until next summer. No need to rush anything.
I was not happy to see the conditions my brother was living in. He refers to his one bedroom apartment as the ghetto. It is very clean, and that is the only nice thing I can say about it. He could afford better, but chooses to live in extreme poverty. I don't understand, but it is his life. I was happy to find that although his health is very poor, it isn't quite as bad as I had been led to believe. Mom exaggerated certain things and left others out altogether. Overall, I enjoyed the visit, and believe the Lord paved the way and kept things peaceful in answer to prayer.
Over the weekend we enjoyed as much family time as we could, and overindulged in yummy delicious foods. We visited a botanical garden and the mall just for walking. We soaked in the hot tub, and played oldies and danced around in our room. Now it is time to return to the reality that school starts full time tomorrow. So...off to bed for a good night's sleep.
