It’s no secret: I love food. Pizza especially. And clearly, by my size, you can tell I have probably had a few too many slices over the years. But you see, I haven’t always been this heavy, and some even say “Well 212 isn’t THAT big”.
But there’s a bigger picture. I’ve only been overweight for about 5 years. That’s it. The other 20 years of my life I was a normal healthy weight. However, since then I have overcome a destructive marriage, had a child, and my weight has bounced back and forth. And while my boyfriend may love me and tell me I’m beautiful no matter what, it’s deeper than that.
I hurt. My back hurts, my hips, my feet... and I have a little girl to keep up with. My two year old isn’t going to slow down just because mommy can’t keep up. So I do it for her. I do it for the play dates at the park, or the walks around the trails. I do it so I can run and dance and be silly without having to worry about being able to walk the next day. I want to be comfortable in my own skin, but mostly I just want to be healthy and active.
