Book Lovers Day
Saturday, August 11, 2018
This is our assignment for the Aspire and Inspire sparkteam: August 9 was Book Lovers Day - Book Lovers Day encourages you to find a place in the shade to relax with a good book. Book reading is a great hobby. It's an important one, too. Employers look for it on resumes. Reading is educational, informative, and relaxing. It makes us both smarter, and happier people. Do you like to read? Do you have a favorite author? What book or books have you read lately?
I love to read. Lately I’ve mostly been reading nonfiction. My favorite author is Gretchen Rubin. She writes about happiness and habits. She also has a weekly podcast that I really enjoy, called Happier with Gretchen Rubin.
The last two books I read were Make It Happen and Cultivate, both by Lara Casey. They are about goal setting and intentional living (written from a Christian perspective). I liked Cultivate the best. In the book she compared intentional living to cultivating a garden.
Next up on my reading list is The Giver by Lois Lowry. I haven’t started it yet, but I’ve heard it’s really good.
