Quick update... and it continues...

Friday, August 10, 2018

So, I got home from the neurologist office this morning after my infusion around 11:15... about half an hour later my primary doctor office calls and tells me that I tested positive for a staphylococcal infection when they did the throat swab for the strep test on Monday... when they told me I was no longer contagious... well guess what? I am still contagious for another 24-48 hours after I start treatment (which I started this afternoon) and have been contagious all along. Oof. I hate that I could have gotten friends or family sick unwittingly. Oh well. I did my best with the information I had at the time... I am on antibiotics now every 6 hours for 7 days... and in the meantime I still have what’s left of the virus lingering, and the echoes of the migraine. Can you tell I am feeling a bit morose? Bleh... tell me something good in your life to distract me or something funny to cheer me up???

Is it too late to distract you? Or make you laugh? I'll send stuff on facebook. It's where I'm always distracted and laughing.

I recently started getting Hello Fresh meals delivered - they send you the raw ingredients, including small packages of spices, the fresh veggies & herbs, and small bottles of flavored oils & vinegar. - all packed neatly in paper bags & with the recipe instructions. I get 3 pre-selected meals, for 2 people each - which means I have all of the dinners I can eat (a lot of the servings are too much for me, I made the maple-glazed pork chops & diivided them into 3 meals). Anyway, I also made the Mediterranean couscous with veggies - & decided to just make 2 servings. Ate one bowl- with a bit left in the bowl. When I turned my back, Sharona decided she’d been a very good girl & deserved a snack! Yep, she was scarfing down the last couple of spoonfuls. Piglet!

Hope this will give you a smile.
My cat, Bart, woke me up this morning. I was laying on my left side & he sat on my hip. He kept batting me with his paw, wanting to play, & meowing. How could you get mad at that cute face almost smiling at you! Our fur babies give us love & support. They seem to be there for us whenever we are sick or down. At times they drive us crazy, but I can't imagine life without them!

We had lunch at Panera today. My husband brought home a cinnamon roll. He left it on the kitchen counter and I went in there and pinched off a tiny piece. Then I told him that his cinnamon roll was cheating on him. I told him that the cinnamon roll had told me to take a piece and that I just wanted him to know.

I went in the kitchen again and he was where he could hear me and I shouted out "No, bad cinnamon roll!" When I came out of the kitchen he was smiling.

Later, he moved the cinnamon roll to the dining table. While we were having dinner, I stopped in the middle of what I was saying to tell him that he had not hid the cinnamon roll well enough and that I could still hear it telling me to eat some!

Yes, it's true, my husband is married to a nut!

I have a temporary fur baby- his name is Chewbacca, but he goes by Chewy. He’s a six month old cocker spaniel. He’s not staying with me but I am walking him and taking care of him. Boy, does he have a lot of energy! And he’s so cute! It has been fun but I kind of wish this had happened in the cooler months, not when it’s pushing 100 degrees every day.

I have three great kiddos I’m working with right now too- they’re 6, 4 and 1. They are cuties too and bring smiles to my face. Such happy kids despite what they have been through.

I hope you feel better soon. Will continue to pray for you. emoticon

So, I had a birthday on Thursday and my partner of 28 years is away for 3 weeks..... so I was pretty much alone. Two of my friends wanted to take me to dinner and after a few ping pong games we went to a local restaurant. 9 of my friends, with balloons and gifts were there waiting. Such a great party!! See......at times your life is doom and gloom....but then it comes back to friends.
    Amen!
