We Now Return You To Your Regularly Scheduled Life...

Wow, July did NOT turn out the way I planned AT ALL!

The answer to where the inflammation was: My Gallbladder, which as of the 24th of July is no longer a part of my body! Hopefully the extraction of that troublesome organ will fix many of my issues. Surgery went well, only issue was that it took two people to figure out where to put my IV since it was discovered that I have rolling veins.

I get to go back to work today (8/6). Between my vacation week and surgery, I have been at work 1 day since July 16th. I'm sure my co-workers are anxious for my return! On the positive side of things, I work in the Leave of Absence department at my company, so I knew how to contact our 3rd party company who handles things like Short-Term Disability and such.

I've learned how to take things SLOW these past few weeks. I didn't do a very good job of it several times, which resulted in the doctor not letting me go back to work until today. I was hoping to go back last Wednesday after my post-op appointment, but the doctor nixed that since I had overdone things a few days post-surgery and realized later that wasn't such a hot idea.

My next doctor appointment with my weight doctor is Friday. I went off of my Phentermine due to the surgery (they had to reschedule the surgery from the 12th to the 24th because of it, but that worked out better because my Mom was back from vacation by then) but am restarting that today as well. Hopefully my system won't go all wacky because I've been off of it for so long.

Hopefully August will be a bit more "normal"...I'm ready to get back to my old routine, including exercising again. Even though the surgery was laparoscopic, it was still a bit of a chore to even walk long distances for a while. I am doing a 5K in Kansas City on the 18th, but I will walk most of it. It will be a lot of fun because part of it is on the field at Kauffman Stadium, one of my favorite places!

Have a great Monday, all!
