I woke up to some water on the grill cover, so I guess we got some rain last night. The road and driveways are dry, so I am hoping for enough rain to actually get the ground wet. It seems strange to not hear one lawn mower or edger for two months. I know the southern states are flooded, but it is not blowing up here at all. I feel sorry for them until I think about the seven months out of the year we have blizzards, no power, ice storms, sub-zero temps and such high heat bills that we second-guess luxuries like entertainment, travel anywhere, and praying we do not lose our heat and power.
I am staying home today and doing some stretches and lunges, knee bends and stairs.

We have had just about daily rains and our ground is saturated. Today's forecast: A slow moving cold front in conjunction with some increased winds higher up in the atmosphere has given us some ingredients that makes severe weather more possible today. The best timing for these will be in the late afternoon into the evening and for areas mainly west of I-81. All modes of severe weather is possible, including a small risk for an isolated tornado, but the main risk looks to be both flooding and severe winds bringing down trees on already soggy ground.

There was ponding on the roads this evening.

Southern California has been in a drought for just about as long as I have been alive. Dreaming of rain!

We been in a heat wave over the last few weeks. Yesterday, it rained and cooled everything off. I've been staying indoors most days to escape the heat.

Strange weather all over. We could really use a good rain, if for nothing but to keep Larry from mowing the stubble, and spraying, but it keeps him busy. We got about 10" inches this morning, that was between drops on the patio, I had just got back from my walk and giving Duke and Merlin a fresh bowl of water. I should have walked a little slower and maybe we would have gotten a little more. lol But I fooled Mother Nature, and she was angry so NO MORE rain. lol

If only we could get some rain out here to help with the firefighting. Luckily, the air is a bit clearer this morning so I'm hoping today's update says that the fires are a little more under control. I'm glad you got a little moisture!

Love how you appreciate the good times when there is power and heat. It's a good reminder to all of us to be grateful when things are "normal".

We have been fortunate to have some pretty good rains the last few days. But the other side of the state is in a drought. My son complains how his ground is cracking from being so dry and I complained that I got soaked to the skin when I got caught in a storm.
