Still waiting for rain..

Friday, July 27, 2018

We got all excited awhile ago: We saw some raindrops! For two minutes, then nothing..

We did our weekly run with a few extra stops.

Yesterday I bought a new laptop and mouse for the desktop. I, of course, had some free digital gift cards that I earned free of charge online. They had a sale, plus, I had them scan a QR code for 500 extra points for a website that I earn free gift cards! The PC battery is still charging. I really do not care for laptops, they take way too long to use the mouse.. I only bought it for our vacation, so we can stay in touch with life.
This morning we used a free staples reward to get a boatload of tissues.
On to the grocery store for some essentials and freebies.
We then went to menards for yet more bird seed and some freebies. I bought 120 pounds of seed for the little winged friends. I slowed down on feeding them when it got warmer outside, but since we are in drought conditions here, I know bugs are scarce, so I am feeding them again. I also scrubbed the birdbath out and DD refilled it in the shade.
I also bought a lawn sprinkler: we have not had one for almost 30 years with all of the rain we have had here, but this is so different this year. Of course, Linda's Law, once I got the basement ready for flooding, we get no rain. No complaints about THAT area, but I feel bad for farmers and wildlife.

We will be wrapping Christmas gifts and going over our vacation checklist this weekend. We will be leaving 3 weeks from tomorrow!

I've gone full laptop - I was reluctant in the beginning, but I've come to enjoy it. I do have an external Bluetooth mouse that I use at home, but I can use the touchpad when I'm traveling without a problem. I hope the new machine works well for you on vacation! We are looking at the possibility of rain tonight - maybe it will head your way afterward. Hugs from Lake of the Ozarks, MO!

Christmas gifts??? emoticon Wowsa...are you an early bird or what? Maybe you take them with you to deliver to the family when you head out for vacation?

I know how much you look forward to your vacation every year. I always worry about the wildlife and bugs and bees during extra dry periods here in FL. Luckily most every day we get a good drench. It's what keeps FL so beautifully green and tropical. emoticon

Yes, that definitely is Linda's Law, about that basement. But don't count on not getting more rain next year.
