Beck Diet Solution Day 2, remembering KETO

Choose 2 diets, just the word diet implies short-term with rules to follow. So, what is the big diet hype today. Keto - no thanks done that before, hubby ended up with kidney stone after stone after kidney stone. When I missed the birth of my grandson because I was in the surgery waiting room while hubby delivered his kidney stone, I decided enough of that diet.
I lost a weight on that type of diet, but guess what? I am down to that same weight now following a whole food plant based diet, eating little or no meat products. And I go off plan like crazy.
It is that going off plan that is causing me to repeat the Beck Diet Solution. I keep buying and eating junk food, which I know is not good for me. I need a new mindset.
When I did that other "diet", hubby was with me and he wanted to do it also. It is so much easier with support in the household. It seems like the more focused I get, the more of a rebel he becomes. He once told me that he couldn't lose weight because I eat too much junk food. I did not know that the calories I ate transferred to him!
So, one day, as we were shopping and he was throwing cookies and candy in the cart, I pointed out that he was the one buying the junk not me. Mistake - he is passive aggressive and all of a sudden he was no longer hiding his junk food but leaving it lay in plain sight for me to see. He once put his stash in my spot.
Yes, it is so much easier when you have the support of others, especially as an emotional eater, not having support wreaks havoc on the emotions. That is why I am restarting the BDS. In the past, when on the KETO I was able to use these techniques and strengthened my resistance muscles often. Man, I miss those days when I could walk away and not feel so defeated with my choice.
So, today is not really to pick particular diet to follow but to start a whole food plant based way of eating and to get rid of the junk food and overly processed "foods" that offer little or no nutritional value.
