My Vision Statement To Start The Next Half Century

I'm turning 50 on Saturday, so I thought I'd sit down and redo my vision statement. It's always good to sit down and re-evaluate where we are in our lives and look over the map of what's next. So, here is what I've mapped out for now...

What do I want my life to look like in…

1 year:
I would like to be near the halfway point to my goal. I want to build up stamina and not lose my breath doing simple tasks. I want to be able to swim laps as fitness and fun. I also want to build up upper and core strength to help prevent anymore back injuries. I want to make this a lifestyle change that doesn’t make me feel deprived or strenuous to maintain.

5 years:
I would like to be at my goal and maintenance with my weight. I would like to be working on endurance swimming, maybe even joining an adult swim club/team. I would like to become ore involved in the community by doing charity or volunteer work, maybe in the areas that would help my nephew, Isaac and autism.

10 years:
I would be most ecstatic if I could reach this point with total maintenance. I would like to be working toward becoming completely debt free at this point and working on self-sustaining with gardening and my hobbies.

What would my ideal days look like?

Why would I look forward to getting up to in the morning?
Knowing that I feel healthy and that I can move around freely and healthily would motivate me to start each day. That I can get up and not feel winded doing the things I love would help me feel determined to obtain and reach my goals.

What is the first thing I would do in the morning?
I would start the day with 5 to 15 minutes of gentle yoga to get my body started. Then I would fix a healthy breakfast to fuel my body. If I have time, I would do a quick cardio of either a quick walk or bike around the block, or a video on the Xbox (varying on the weather). Then I would get ready for work.

Who would I spend my days with?
Friends and family are the people I long to spend my days with the most. I want to fill my days with those who are uplifting and encouraging.

What are the good experiences I would want to experience each day?
I want to feel healthy. I want to feel loved. I want to feel encouraged. I want to feel joy. I want to feel successful. I want to feel as if I had done everything I could to do what needed to be done.

How do I want to face the challenges of each day?
I want to face the challenges of each day knowing that I have the right tools to get the job done, and if I don’t, then knowing how or where to get them or the answers to get them.

What personal values do I want my daily life to express and reflect?
I want to use my faith in God to show who I am on the inside and outside. I don’t want there to be any doubt who I am as an individual. I want to remain a woman who is loyal to those she is close to, as well as to her family. I want to remain independent and build up my security in my future, by building up my health so that I can maintain that independence.
