I had a great trip 90 miles north of my home to Lakewood shores in Oscoda. I enjoyed a nice boat ride, great fellowship with Ron and Di and their neighbors, went endless shopping with Di in Alpena, Rogers City and every place in-between.
There are drought conditions here in Michigan, but lo and behold, the two days I spent with them(Linda's Law), it rained both days. On my trip home this morning the thunder/lightning/rain storm was so bad, some people pulled over to the side of US 23!
I really enjoyed seeing Ron and Di and their eldest son Chris. The humidity level is 97% here, so it really takes a lot out of even small children. They did not have central A/C in their home the first year they moved up there, but now it is a very comfortable temperature indoors.
The traffic was bumper-to-bumper going both ways all of the way home, very unusual for a Saturday morning, but I think a lot of tourists (Trunk slammers) were going out to restaurants to eat, and shopping instead of fishing, swimming and doing sunny-type things. This rain was so blinding because Lake Huron is literally ten feet from US 23 up there. Drought or flood, we never know surrounded by these Great Lakes.
I am happy to be home.
