Back In Minnesota For Vacation

Friday, July 13, 2018

We left the southern RGV area of south Texas on the Fourth of July. We stopped for the first night somewhere in Oklahoma, after driving over 600+ miles that day. Next morning started driving again---thought we would make it to somewhere in Iowa for Thursday night. We got a bit into Iowa, hubby says if you drive for an hour we still can make it into Minnesota and to our DD's home. So we did, got there about 8:30 that evening. Worn out was and understatement. We drove just slightly under 1500 miles in two days. Little did I know the next day and many more would be rough days for me. Came down with my chronic intestinal disease and was miserable for the next five days. We missed our leave date to get up to northern Mn. by four days.

We arrived this Wednesday to see my brother-in-law. It is so quiet here without my sister here to chit chat with, I do so miss her. Many times I will say, got to ask Geor, then it reminds me she is no longer with us (I do this back home ). Here I know she is gone.
This week I have started back exercising, but not as much as I usually do. Well, tried it yesterday did 65 minutes. Now today I am just happy I got out and walked for a bit---exhausted today again. So will cut back om doing how much I would like to do, but do what I feel comfortable doing. It is very warm here this week, temps tp be in the 70's next week if weather forecasters got it right---why they give a weeks out forecast is beyond me.
My hubby and BIL went to the casino for a bit, so think I will try now to do a bit of walking in the house.

Glad you got to see your DD
I know it’s hard without your sister

Also happy you did some walking. But hard when you are ill. You should do what you can

What a trip you had - so sorry you were ill.

I bet you don't miss our South Texas heat!!!

I'm sure it's hard going back to your sister's house now, but your memories are there.

When we travel my DH has to make all kinds of stops. Seems like we take forever to get anywhere.

We have the done the 1500+ miles in 2 days as well but now have decided to slow the travel down and enjoy the sights. We don't use I-35 until we get to OK where we stop at WinStar for a day or two. Enjoy the campground. This trip probably to Branson before heading out to MacKinaw for a SP rally of the RV team.

You take care of yourself and enjoy the time you are there.
