Short, short blog!

Wednesday, July 11, 2018

This little guy says it all!

My scale last Saturday showed some weight loss and I'm happy about that. So why did I pick up the individual shortcakes, whipped cream and strawberries when I grocery shopped on Monday?? My excuse would be because strawberries are now in season here in Canada and we all love our shortcake. An excuse it is and a poor one, poor choice of food.

Sigh, well it's done and I won't knock myself down over it. I need too, to figure out why I sabotage my efforts every time I lose some of this weight. Do you do the same thing. If so, what do you do about it?

I love strawberry shortcake, I can see why you were tempted. Oh, Gloria I do the same thing all the time. I still don't understand why I do it! But, as I always do...get back on track and put it in the past. Sometimes, its ok to eat things like that once in awhile. Congrats on the weight loss! Stay strong and focused. emoticon emoticon

I understand I do the same thing just pick yourself up and start again. Freeze those cakes and have them with others come to visit.

I often do the same thing. I know that I am really struggling and ate a candy bar yesterday. Fortunately, no candy bars in the house and know that I won't eat any today.

Sometimes we need a little treat and that's okay. Maybe next time think of a healthier way to enjoy the strawberries, maybe without the shortcake.

Good foods all but the ice cream and that can be good as well if you choose a low fat, no added sugar. Frozen yogurt fits that category.

sabotage means you ate 6 short cakes --- not so if you have one a night with your strawberries. You have to enjoy life's little pleasures

Sparkmom, you don’t not to deprive yourself of desserts. An occasional dessert is alright. Strawberry shortcake probably has a lot less calories than a lot of desserts. Enjoy your strawberry shortcake. emoticon

It’s not sabotage unless you overindulge. It’s good to have a treat or you will cave in. Have your treat and put the rest in the freezer for next month!👍

I now only have desserts on weekends; I plan for them and enjoy them tremendously. That is the only way I can have desserts at all. On weekdays I just say "I can have that on Saturday if I want". If I end up with more than two desserts; I either share them or freeze them for another weekend. It works for me.

Strawberry shortcake? Oh yes, easy to sabotage yourself there and I sabotaged myself consistently until I started the weekend thing.
