I'm just watching a programme about a 70 stone man, so far he's lost 25 stone in order to be able to undergo a bariatric operation. It makes you wonder how people can get to such a huge weight, it must cost a fortune to feed a habit to get you to such a huge weight. I thought I was bad letting myself get to 21 stone at my worst and I will never ever go back to that size again!
Pete is away tonight and I've been to a neighbourhood watch meeting don't really feel like much 'cos I had a big chicken salad for lunch so what can I have? Well there was some bacon and some mushrooms in the fridge and I remembered buying a Heinz Lentil Curry ages ago on Wendy 's recommendation! Pete doesn't like lentils (he's never tried it) So I cooked the bacon and mushrooms and added them to the heated lentil curry, it may not look pretty but it tasted delicious.

Sounds wonderful Jude, I love lentils and bacon so sure that would be tasty!

I also see things where people have lost 17 stones and am SO GLAD that i only got up to 19.5 stones and although I have lost and maintained 7 stones (98lbs) of which I am proud! emoticon

I think it has a lot to do with depression you don't love yourself and you let yourself go to the point where you just can't move and all you want to do is eat. The hardest thing is taking it all but you have to start somewhere.

That is an awful lot of weight to carry around. At that weight he probably couldn't do much. The fact that he lost that much just to get the surgery is amazing. Kudos to him! emoticon emoticon

The weight does just creep up. I've lost 72lbs and can't believe I had that much to lose. I didn't feel or look that overweight at the time.

I think that, just like the 50 pounds I gained, the weight just creeps up over time. Because you become less and less active, it takes less energy than you think to maintain it.

70 stones = 980 pounds, I am not sure I believe someone can weight that much. What type of show was it? Where are you from? I had to look up the weight of a stone, I am not familiar with this measurement. Also, bacon is always delicious!
