Monday afternoon

Monday, July 09, 2018

I again, slept over 8 1/2 hours last night. Still the effects of that darned allergy medicine on Saturday morning.
Today I moseyed out to get a haircut and it was already 85 degrees at 9 a.m.
We then went to order a new chair for the living room and then on to the library.

Before my eye appointment on Wednesday afternoon, I am making a pasta salad to take up north on Thursday morning. I always toss in a few things to munch on like a veggie tray, fresh fruit salad, and I am bringing some chicken breasts for grilling. I am excited to be relaxing for a couple days with my friends.

A couple hours ago, the new owner of Martha Stewart's house came over with a contractor and they went up on the roof.
Awhile ago a huge dumpster arrived in the driveway. The worm turns, probably literally in this case. Now, in most cases, I would say that the dumpster is to be used for the roof. HOWEVER, with this house, I would actually bet my entire house, retirement and all of my assets, that it is mainly for what is in the house, garage and back yard.
The weeds are grown right up to the top of the stockade fence, the garage is filled to the rafters with old appliances, junk, bags of who-knows-what, and old furniture, bikes, cans, bottles, etc.
We are all so thrilled about this turn of events. I do not care if a circus trainer with wild animals, tents, carny rides, etc, buys this house when it is finished, it will still be a vast improvement.
I will, however, need to turn to alternative entertainment now. The old circus moved to another part of town..

When the hoarder catty-corner from our house, and her husband were put into a nursing home, her daughter cleaned out the house and sold it. The man that lives in the house next to it, bought it and rents it out. I have no idea how much all of that cost or how long it took to get the house in shape to rent out.

Since the house was sold, we have neighbors that take pride in the house. The woman that was the hoarder used a scooter to go around with a reacher and pick up used cigarette butts to smoke. The first month we we lived in our house, there was a hot dog social for the whole street. She thought it was being held at our house and knocked on the door. She had two cakes and told me that one that had powdered sugar sprinkled on it was "not molded."

Our neighbor that lives next to us said he wasn't going to the social for fear of eating something that she took to it. Every available space that she owned was filled with junk. She couldn't see out of the rear window of her car, it was packed except for where she sat to drive. She had her house, garage, two outbuildings and her car full. The City had been by and done clean-outs, but she would refill it all again.
